A LONG TIME SINCE LAST POST

Since Christmas, New Years, Superbowl, Valentines Day, St Patty's Day and Easter have all passed since my last post I've decided it was time for an update.

The most memorable thing as of late, was vacation. One week on St George Island with the whole family. Despite the kids flight from Atlanta getting cancelled and them renting a car to drive the 7 hours to the beach, the rest of the week went very well.

Addy and Wylie were a delight - each morning we took them on a walk on the beach then spent the day making sand castles, flying the kite and just hanging out. Every night we congragated in our room to jump on the bed, sing songs and play pirates. It was one of the most special times I've ever had and we hope this is going to be an on going tradition with them.
My big surprise this year was my wonderful kids surprised us with a professional photographer coming to the beach to do some family pictures. It was the only time we got gussied up and had some great shots taken. I will cherish these forever!

Since it was my vacation to, we took turns cooking and had a cooking competition where the girls won the best of the week
The time went too fast but am hoping that we'll do it again next year or AT LEAST the one after that. When I think of it WOW if we do it in 2013 the "babies" will be 4 OMG and perhaps we will have more "babies" and Addy and Wylie will be the "little kids" LOL

Life is GREAT!

GiGi's second Christmas is almost here!

The first weekend in Dec Sarah and I took our annual birthday trip to Chicago to shop and spend time together. This is one of the most special events to me as I remember how lucky I am to have her in my life. I got to Indy on Thursday and was able to spend a little time with Wylie and Tennelle was so sweet to bring Addy over to see GiGi. As much as I would of LOVED to get a traditional picture of the two of them, this one had to do (they are on the move all the time)

One of the funniest things is they both LOVE pop corn, or as Addy say POP CERN in a little southern drawl! Although as GiGi I'm not so sure it's good for them - they LOVE it and it keeps them happy so it's worth it!

This Christmas the babies will spend with their other Gramma's. Hopefully next time I see them I'll get a Christmas picture for the scrap book.
Merry Christmas and Lov to all

HOW FAST DOES TIME GO? Babies that barley open their eyes to babies you can barley catch. The past 20 months have been the best time of my life. Having Grandbabies now Grand Toddlers is the best thing ever. This past weekend was spent in Indy with all the extended family enjoying each other, a great meal and a stomach virus started by one of the toddlers. OH WELL as Gommy says (that's Addy's Gramma Jan - Tennelle's Mom) it was worth ever minute of sick to spend time with those beautiful little fingers and toes.

Addy is full blown dare devil - no fear except she's not found of men - but her Daddy and she loved Papa and says his name in a little song - Papagigi Papagigi. As you can imagine he is over the moon that she says his name AND that she spent some time with him.

Wylie is all boy - busy busy busy and going through I WANT MY DADDY phase but is a charmer with his big brown eyes and his devilish grin.

Chris wanted a picture of them both so he plopped them in Wylie's crib (told me they wanted to jump) HMMM sounds like a fish story to me!
Another Wonderful Thanksgiving spent with the most joy a heart can hold.

Being GiGi is the BEST

So much time has gone by since my last post but as I get older time seems to go quicker! HEY - didn't my Mom used to tell me that. Amazing what our parents told us when we were young now comes true as we get to be older.

Let's see - Oct 1st brought the "official" signed sealed and snuggled of Wylie Garrett Nielsen to our family. Cori (Adam's Mom) Tennelle and Addy and myself joined Adam and Sarah as they answered the question of basically "do you know what your getting into" the answer was a million times over YES YES AND YES. Adam treated us all to a tapas lunch in beautiful downtown Indy. Friday night a "HOT DOG it's official" party was held at Wylie's house where he was only the bell of the ball for a short time till it was time for him to call it a night. He is such a wonderful little boy and he has the very best of both in his parents, Sarah - my sweet carefree daughter and Adam who will be the disciplinarian in the family I THINK! It's a perfect match. Uncle Gary and Auntie Paulette came down from Algonquin to join the party and for Gary to take a spin on Adam's Harley. Sat we knocked around Indy showing Gary and Paulette a few sights and over to Jeff and Tennelle's house. Jeff was at a conference in Atlanta and while we got together he spent time with Chris.

Halloween although we weren't in Indy the picture of the two of them is one of my favorites. Not sure they realized that some day they would get treats for looking this adorable.

November was Thanksgiving and what a Thanksgiving it was - Chris and I joined everyone at the Nielsen's where Sarah and Adam have been hosting for the last few years but we haven't attended. Now with babies we don't plan on EVER missing another turkey day in Indy. Unless of course we are all somewhere else together. The holiday consists of the entire family - us - Barb and Bob Gramma Shirley and new husband Steve - Melissa and Maddie with baby AJ from Moline, Adam's Mom and Dad and brother. It couldn't be more perfect.

My favorite part was getting a turn to put each of our babies down for naps or for night sleep. When they fall asleep in your arms all cozy there is NOTHING in this world like it. Wylie wants to fight you to stay awake (I believe he doesn't want to miss anything) and Addy snuggles in and looks like a little angel. AHHHH to be that care free.

Christmas was the best EVER! Christmas Eve was a festive night at Jeff and Tennelle's with the whole family (our WHOLE family now consists of us, Barb and Bob, Jeff and Tennelle, Sarah and Adam and babies) so we are 8 adults and 2 little ones. HOW wonderful is that ? Tennelle got the babies matching jamies and they of course stole the show!
Christmas Day we all met back at Jeff and Tennelle's for Christmas Brunch and to spend the day enjoying each other and the time with little ones. It was just the perfect kind of day just hanging out and being together.

The last day of our weekend in Indianapolis I convinced Sarah to hit the shopping trail at 6 AM the day after Christmas, much to her dismay Target didn't open till 7 but luckily Kohl's didn't let me down and we picked up a few treasurers before a Starbucks and hitting Target at 7. I am not kidding this was our cart!

After 3 1/2 hrs of getting the day after bargains it was a great breakfast at Cafe Patachu for Sarah and I and Barb joined us but ONLY because she agreed next time she'd hit the shopping trail with us. We each got a tree for next year and Wylie will have one for his room decorated in animals and polka dots. Another mission for me to be on!
For now these are the best times anyone could have the babies are the most wonderful thing that I have ever experienced and I look forward to every minute I can spend with them.
Not to over look my beautiful children here is a cute snap of Jeff and Sarah on Christmas Eve.

What's better than ONE baby TWO of course

Friday night Sept 4 we got together at Sarah and Adam's to celebrate Jeff's big 3 0 birthday! The best part I got both of these little cuties at once.

We got to Indianapolis Friday noon and were able to spend the long weekend with the kids and the babies. Saturday spending it putzing around and at night going to the Indians game with Sarah (Adam went to Illinois for a family get together)

Sunday was a day of mommies babies and GiGi - we started off at the best breakfast place in Indy and headed to the out let mall of a mass shopping for growing babies. One of the things I've learned with them is nothing goes fast OR as you plan it. Every two hours it's eat time! And then we're wet or tired or we simply just want some attention. I LOVED every single second of it.

The boys went to a bike trail IN THE RAIN that took them up rocks and a few spills and covered in MUD! Of course coming back Chris had to clean the bikes with a tooth brush! SERIOUSLY!

Sunday night Addy had us over to her house for pizza and she and Wylie crashed out like lights after their day at the mall.

Monday we (ACTUALLY) Adam Sarah and Chris worked in the yard, I washed bottles went to the grocery and hung out with Wylie. I think I got the best part of the deal.

One of the things we really enjoy while visiting is doing a yard project (that and BIKING) and this year Sarah wanted a section of the yard as a planting area. The ground was turned in July and this visit Chris and Adam planted the collective plants in the area to make a splash of color for next year when they grow back. Sarah has a great eye for what looks good together. We tell her that's the Ryg side of her genes.

Some cute pictures of the babies

Addy will be 6 months old Sept 13 how fast does the time fly and she gets cuter every day!
Wylie will be 5 months on Sept 19 and he is growing so fast and is so cute. I LOVE it when he laughs he likes me to say GiGi to him that makes him giggle.

I'll have more tomorrow as we have 2 rolls of

film in to get developed, that I know will have more cute pictures of them!
