Being GiGi is the BEST

So much time has gone by since my last post but as I get older time seems to go quicker! HEY - didn't my Mom used to tell me that. Amazing what our parents told us when we were young now comes true as we get to be older.

Let's see - Oct 1st brought the "official" signed sealed and snuggled of Wylie Garrett Nielsen to our family. Cori (Adam's Mom) Tennelle and Addy and myself joined Adam and Sarah as they answered the question of basically "do you know what your getting into" the answer was a million times over YES YES AND YES. Adam treated us all to a tapas lunch in beautiful downtown Indy. Friday night a "HOT DOG it's official" party was held at Wylie's house where he was only the bell of the ball for a short time till it was time for him to call it a night. He is such a wonderful little boy and he has the very best of both in his parents, Sarah - my sweet carefree daughter and Adam who will be the disciplinarian in the family I THINK! It's a perfect match. Uncle Gary and Auntie Paulette came down from Algonquin to join the party and for Gary to take a spin on Adam's Harley. Sat we knocked around Indy showing Gary and Paulette a few sights and over to Jeff and Tennelle's house. Jeff was at a conference in Atlanta and while we got together he spent time with Chris.

Halloween although we weren't in Indy the picture of the two of them is one of my favorites. Not sure they realized that some day they would get treats for looking this adorable.

November was Thanksgiving and what a Thanksgiving it was - Chris and I joined everyone at the Nielsen's where Sarah and Adam have been hosting for the last few years but we haven't attended. Now with babies we don't plan on EVER missing another turkey day in Indy. Unless of course we are all somewhere else together. The holiday consists of the entire family - us - Barb and Bob Gramma Shirley and new husband Steve - Melissa and Maddie with baby AJ from Moline, Adam's Mom and Dad and brother. It couldn't be more perfect.

My favorite part was getting a turn to put each of our babies down for naps or for night sleep. When they fall asleep in your arms all cozy there is NOTHING in this world like it. Wylie wants to fight you to stay awake (I believe he doesn't want to miss anything) and Addy snuggles in and looks like a little angel. AHHHH to be that care free.

Christmas was the best EVER! Christmas Eve was a festive night at Jeff and Tennelle's with the whole family (our WHOLE family now consists of us, Barb and Bob, Jeff and Tennelle, Sarah and Adam and babies) so we are 8 adults and 2 little ones. HOW wonderful is that ? Tennelle got the babies matching jamies and they of course stole the show!
Christmas Day we all met back at Jeff and Tennelle's for Christmas Brunch and to spend the day enjoying each other and the time with little ones. It was just the perfect kind of day just hanging out and being together.

The last day of our weekend in Indianapolis I convinced Sarah to hit the shopping trail at 6 AM the day after Christmas, much to her dismay Target didn't open till 7 but luckily Kohl's didn't let me down and we picked up a few treasurers before a Starbucks and hitting Target at 7. I am not kidding this was our cart!

After 3 1/2 hrs of getting the day after bargains it was a great breakfast at Cafe Patachu for Sarah and I and Barb joined us but ONLY because she agreed next time she'd hit the shopping trail with us. We each got a tree for next year and Wylie will have one for his room decorated in animals and polka dots. Another mission for me to be on!
For now these are the best times anyone could have the babies are the most wonderful thing that I have ever experienced and I look forward to every minute I can spend with them.
Not to over look my beautiful children here is a cute snap of Jeff and Sarah on Christmas Eve.

Lov to all
GiGi
